Thermo-modified Ash allows improving several key characteristics of natural ash, including moisture resistance, biological stability, and ability to preserve geometric dimensions. The thermal modification does reduce mechanical characteristics of ash but transforms wood color throughout to a rich deep brown. Thermo-Ash has extended longevity, moisture resistance is 3 times less than that of untreated wood, ecologically clean, the severity of cupping and warping as a result of external humidity fluctuations are 2.5 times lower than that of untreated wood. The thermo-modified wood has a uniform color throughout the depth of the plank, which allows to undertake spot repairs and resand with ease.
